Alleluia, Arise! Connect with Jesus! His Resurrection is Ours!
A. Today’s Special Items
1. Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework Memorize and declare Luke 4:18-19, the mission statement of Jesus, which is ours as well! “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”
Memorize it, declare it, and ask the Lord for the grace to live it like never before!
2. Detroit Catholic Pastoral Alliance 2021 Spirit Award. Please join me in congratulating Mr. Gregory Spight for being the Corpus Christi recipient of this year’s Spirit Award! The Detroit Catholic Pastoral Alliance annually hosts a gathering at Sacred Heart Parish in Detroit to honor some of our brothers and sisters in Christ for their Holy Spirit-filled service in the city of Detroit. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, attendance at this year’s event is limited to invitation only, but you are invited to
Here is the bio of Mr. Spight that will be used in the program for the ceremony: “Mr. Spight is a longtime member of Corpus Christi Parish who currently serves as the maintenance supervisor at the parish. He is a devoted husband (married almost 46 years to his beloved wife Darice), father of three lovely daughters, and grandfather of precious grandchildren. He is also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and is currently the 1st Zone Commander for the American Legion, covering all of Wayne County and over 60,000 veterans. Mr. Spight joined the staff at Corpus Christi after retiring from a long career with AT&T. Whether it is repairing a young man’s lawn mower from the neighborhood or overseeing roof repairs, Greg is always taking care of the House of God and God’s people with tireless and honorable devotion. Throughout the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has helped to spearhead creating a safe space for worship along with other staff. Greg only agreed to accept this award if he could accept it on their behalf as well, stating: “one team, one goal.” That epitomizes Gregory Spight -- he does everything for the glory of God in the power of the Holy Spirit. He is truly deserving of this year’s Spirit Award…which he gladly accepts on behalf of his team.” Fr. Patrick

Things we ask you to do:
Wearing a mask at all times over your nose and under your chin (everyone two and older).
Maintaining a 6-foot physical distance between you/members of your household, and others not in your household, both in the pews and in other seating areas, before and after mass.

8. Check to See if God is Asking YOU to … Have you felt … have you heard … the Lord possibly hinting to you that it is time to try to be just a little more bold? Here are three suggestions on how you could do some of that with fellow Corpus Christi members.
You could join those who are Visiting Our Neighbors (VON) … this year it will be the neighborhood west of Lahser.
You could join those who stand outside one of the neighborhood grocery stores and offer prayers to those coming to the store and those leaving the store. (Store Front Evangelization … SFE)
You could join others praying for those two ministries by staying in church in prayer.
This year we are planning these ministries for Tuesday evenings (6:30 – 8:30pm) and Saturday mornings (10:00 am to noon). Questions? Wanting to join the efforts? Please send a return email with your contact information!
9.Renewal of the Mind: Fr. Patrick’s 60-second daily videos and 30-minute weekly radio broadcast Fr. Patrick’s daily video draws guidance for the day from the Mass Scriptures of the day.
