THE NEED IS GREAT!!! THE NEED IS GREAT!!! THE NEED IS GREAT!!!
Yes, you heard it right!!!
The need is great in our community and as we continue our journey through this incredible season of Advent awaiting the coming of Jesus, the Corpus Christi Parish Christian Service Commission and Social Justice Committee invite you to prayerfully consider taking a green envelope from the Advent Giving Tree located in the back of Church and returning it the following weekend with a gift card (or two, or three, or more) to Bless the many families who will need assistance during the Christmas Holiday Season!
Gift cards in any denomination to Target, Walmart, Meijer, and Kroger OR Visa, American Express, and MasterCard gift cards OR if gift cards are not your thing, then please also consider making a financial contribution to the Parish using the same green envelopes from the Advent Giving Tree.
Once you have taken your green envelope, please return it the following weekend by placing it in the baskets during the offertory collection.
With sincere love and gratitude, we thank you, in advance, for your help in helping those who need help the most!!!

9. This Week’s Fr. Patrick Holy Homework
Take a half hour this week to sit down with Jesus and put together an Advent plan, e.g., more Scripture, ½ hour of prayer each day, attend a penance service, less media intake, etc., that will help you prepare your heart for the gift of Christmas and a life lived more wholly in Jesus.
10. This Week’s Evangelization Suggestions
As evidence of our love for our neighbors, wish a Jewish friend “Happy Hanukkah” sometime between Nov. 28th and Dec. 6th. Hanukkah (or Chanukah) is celebrated for eight days to remember the time when the oil, which was only enough to burn for one day, lasted eight days. According to Jewish history, the Maccabees wanted to restore their temple after King Antiochus IV waged a war against the Jews. (See 2 Maccabees 10:1-9 in our Bible. The story about the oil relates to that point in history but is not included there.).
C. Reminders & Updates!

What better way to prepare our hearts for Christmas then to watch the two excerpts from The Chosen that are available through the Corpus Christi website? According to one journalist critic, our Savior, Emmanuel, portrayed in The Chosen, is a Jesus we’ve heard about but rarely seen: a loving, earthy savior who delights in the company of His followers.
“Put simply, The Chosen is one of the most engaging Bible-inspired productions I’ve seen. Surprisingly funny and relatable, we continue watching episode after episode not because we feel obligated to support it as a dutiful Christians, but because it’s compelling and hard to stop.”
Session Two of Generations of Faith The leper and the paralytic man are healed by Jesus in this excerpt from The Chosen. It is followed by a table discussion filmed at Corpus Christi.
