This week take 5 minutes of heart to heart time with Jesus and ask Him this question: “Jesus, how can I grow in holiness today?” Break out the old journal and pen for this one too!
Jumpstart: A Holy Moment!
As we were evangelizing at Foodland on Valentine’s Day, all of us had a beautiful Holy Moment encounter!! We assisted a gentleman and his wife to jumpstart their car in the grocery store parking lot. He shared that he was looking for a church home. The store security guard witnessed this encounter. He was very pleased and excited upon returning inside the store! He shouted, “Praise God”! A seemingly mundane moment became an extraordinary opportunity to plant seeds and praise God for His love and heartfelt goodness together!!
Emmaus Lenten Faith-Sharing Groups
250th Anninversary of the writing of Amazing Grace
This lent we will have Emmaus Faith-Sharing Groups at various times throughout the week. You are invited and encouraged to join one of the groups. This year we will experience Amazing Grace in our lives and in the lives of others. The groups will view a short video, read and discuss the scripture passages and questions and spend some time in prayer. Books are available in the back of church. Groups will meet for six weeks.
Please check the schedule in church or on the website for dates, times, and locations. Please complete a registration form and leave it in church or register with Sign up Genius on the Corpus Christi website (use the button below), so we can form our groups.
If you are in an Emmaus group and have not received your book yet, please contact Sr. Therese at [email protected]

Suggestions for “How to Love God & How to Love Our Neighbor”
Did last Sunday’s homily prompt you with any additional suggestions on how we can show/live-out our love for God or for our neighbors?
Here are the two starter lists from Dcn Paul’s homily:
Some concepts for “loving the Lord”
Pay attention to the Lord, his words, his actions – like coming to us in the Eucharist
Make time, even daily, to spend speak with/listen to the Lord
Like doing Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework
Like praying in the morning and in the evening
Like praying prayers at mealtime
Like reading Scriptures on some regular schedule
Ask the Lord for guidance on how to handle difficult items
Do some things that especially fit with the seasons: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and even Ordinary Time [“ordinary time is not boring time”]
Attend a “Mission” or go on a “Retreat”
Ask the Lord for strength for handling some situation in the Lord’s fashion
Some concepts for “loving our neighbor”
Be friendly and smiley with those:
who are in our families
who live around us
who work with us in a job or in our church
who we meet in our everyday activities
Communicate with those:
Who are isolated
Who are hospitalized
Who are disabled
Financially support those who are in hardship
who are unemployed/underemployed
who live in distressed environments or countries (like Haiti!)
who are undergoing earthquakes or weather disasters (like Turkey!)
who are living in financially desperate areas or countries
Support various groups and organizations who work collectively to achieve the above actions and results
AND, lots and lots of other actions and activities!
If you care to add to those lists of suggested concepts for loving God and our neighbors, simply reply to this email with your concepts.
Thanks already!
Please Pray for …
Our prayer list continues to grow for the deceased, the ill and the homebound. Please visit our parish bulletin for the current list on page 3. … and then raise a prayer for those on the list and your own special intentions. Simply click on the Bulletin button at the end of this email.
AND, please add to your list: “The prayer requests of those we have met during our Store Front Evangelization efforts and the Visiting Our Neighbors efforts”!
Let us pray together for the students killed or injured on Michigan State’s campus last week and for the entire MSU community traumatized by the shootings.
Eucharistic Adoration
The Eucharist is being exposed on the altar in church on the following schedule: Tuesdays: 6:00pm – 8:30pm [Note: that’s a usual time for our neighborhood Evangelization efforts so prayer support is appreciated!]
Thursdays: 9:15am – 12:15pm [Note: Holy Hour for Priestly Vocations from 9:15am – 10:15am]
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
You can go directly to the adoration sign-up by clicking on the following button:
