Jesus feeds the 5000 – Luke 9:11b-17, Sunday, June 19th Feast of Corpus Christi
Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework This week, try to make the sign of the cross and pray the words “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” throughout the days.
Let’s Celebrate our Parish Feast Day!
Sunday, June 19th is the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, our Parish Feast Day. Our celebration will begin with Mass at 11 am, immediately followed by a Eucharistic Procession; then the Hospitality Committee invites you to join them for an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social.
We will be serving in the Rainbow Room after the Eucharistic Procession. Dine in or carry out. Come and celebrate that great Corpus Christi Parish vibe, Father’s Day and Juneteenth, with Guernsey Farms Ice Cream and more. Please take a moment to email [email protected] or call 313-506-7049 to let us know how many are coming. Volunteers are needed for set up on Saturday, June 18 and serving and clean up on Sunday, June 19. Please consider pitching in.
Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession You are invited to be a part of the Eucharistic Procession near the end of the 11:00 Mass on Sunday. The procession will be led by Fr. Patrick carrying the Eucharist in a monstrance. The procession will go around the outside of the church building. It will go out the south entrance door onto Pembroke, go west to Evergreen, come back in through the parking lot, and re-enter the church at that north entrance. The weather forecast for then is mostly sunny and in the mid-70’s. Hope you can join us!
Juneteenth Mass
The Mass of Peace and Justice, Celebrating Freedom, will be here at Corpus Christi at 6:30pm on Friday, June 17th. The celebrant will be Fr. Ted Parker, and the homilist will be Deacon Hubert Sanders. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in 1865. [Note: there will be no 8:30am Mass or Communion Service that morning.]

Invite a Family Member or Friend to “Consider Catholicism”
Is someone you know wondering about your church, your faith, your beliefs, your Bible, your prayers, your worship services, or any other aspect of our Catholic religion? We have a casual process for such people to ask questions about our Catholic faith and practices. We are calling it “Considering Catholicism?” and are having sessions on Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am in the Rainbow Room. There will be a “Considering Catholicism?” sign on the door to help them find the room. The first session will be on Sunday, July 24th and will continue on most Sundays from then until September 18th.
Care to know any more about these sessions? Please contact Dcn Paul Mueller at [email protected].
