This week, try to consciously pray (out loud, if possible) “Jesus, I am doing this for you” as you are going about whatever it is you may be doing. Doing so will help us open up more to the grace of living with sacred intentionalityHappy 4th of July!
For the holiday, our Monday morning Mass will be at 9:00am, not the usual 8:30am.

Corpus Christi’s annual Volunteer Recognition Party will be held on Sunday, July 10th, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Corsi’s Banquet Hall located at 27910 W. 7 Mile Rd (between Inkster and Middlebelt).
Join us for delicious food, music, dancing and fun! You and one adult guest can celebrate at no cost. Please sign up with the registration forms at the back of the church so we know how many are coming or by calling the Parish Office (313.537.5770) or Mary Davis (313.506.7049) no later than noon on Tuesday, July 5th.
Volunteers and one guest can celebrate at no cost. It’s our treat—a small token of our appreciation for all you do to support the Corpus Christi family.

Registration for the Sacrament of Confirmation
Confirmation registration is now open for students in eighth grade or older. If you want your child to be part of the preparation sessions to receive the sacrament, please register today.
The sessions will begin in July for anyone who did not participate in the program last semester. We will have various activities planned for the summer. The introductory meeting for parents is scheduled for Sunday July 17, at 12:30 pm. Both parents and candidates are invited to attend. Invite a Family Member or a Friend to
“Consider Catholicism”
Is someone you know wondering about your church, your faith, your beliefs, your Bible, your prayers, your worship services, or any other aspect of our Catholic religion? We have a casual process for such people to ask questions about our Catholic faith and practices. We are calling it “Considering Catholicism?” and are having sessions on Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am in the Rainbow Room.
There will be a “Considering Catholicism?” sign on the door to help them find the room. The first session will be on Sunday, July 24th and will continue on most Sundays from then until September 18th.

What is up for the Children this Summer?
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is open during the Sunday 11:00 Mass for children 11 years old and younger. Children have the opportunity to discuss the readings at their own ability. Any child who can pay attention is welcome.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level 1 is open during the 11:00 Mass to children ages 5,6,7 years old who have not yet received First Communion. Please register to participate in this session.COGS Registration Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level 2 for older children is meeting at 9:00 am on Sunday. Registration is required for this class. COGS Registration Children’s Liturgy of the Word Activity pages are available in the back of church for elementary aged children. This takes the place of Gospel Weeklies during the summer. What a Beautiful Day & Fine Visits!
Last evening eight parish members had a marvelous evening of evangelization ministry! Three members prayed in the church for the teams who went out. Two members visited our neighbors (VON) on Edinborough and three members did store front evangelization (SFE) at Foodland on 8 Mile.
The evangelization process consists of three simple steps.- Offering people a cross on a chain … free, yes, free!
- Asking people what they would like us to pray for … and then asking the Lord to answer their requests.
- Giving people a small invitation card with our parish information and a Scripture verse on it.
Thanks to the three members who stayed in church to pray for them and thanks to the many who prayed from their homes.
