Considering Catholicism?
Invite a Family Member or a Friend to
“Consider Catholicism”! – This Sunday!
Is someone you know wondering about your church, your faith, your beliefs, your Bible, your prayers, your worship services, or any other aspect of our Catholic religion? We have a casual process for such people to ask questions about our Catholic faith and practices. We are calling it “Considering Catholicism?” and are having sessions on Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am in the parish rectory dining room. (note: this is a change from the prior location in the Activity Center with entrance between the school and the convent.)
The sessions are hosted by Dcn Paul Mueller and Valerie Berry. You are most welcome to accompany your invited guest for their first session … and following sessions as well. Our sessions will be on:

If attendees care to “dig further into the faith” they will be most welcome to participate in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) which will lead to their receiving the Sacraments on Easter weekend

A big “THANK YOU” to so, so many parish members for participating in the events celebrating the feast of Corpus Christi last weekend …
- those who went to Mass,
- those who attended the “Love Outpoured” Regional Congress at St. Scholastica on Saturday,
- those who participated in the procession from St. Scholastica to Corpus Christi or the procession around the block at Corpus Christi,
- those who attended the ice-cream social afterwards, AND
- all those who planned for those events, served us during the events, and finally cleaned up afterwards.

All those who are graduating from grade school, high school, or college will be saluted at the Masses on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd. To have a student be recognized as a graduate, please call the parish office at 313.537.5770 and provide us with the key information:
- Name of the student
- When they will graduate
- What school are they graduating from
- What level of graduation: grade school, high school, or college
- Your phone number where we can contact you.If no one is able to answer your call simply leave a message with that information. AND, CONGRATULATIONS! already to the graduate!
New Item: “Exult” at Corpus Christi.
Companions of the Cross seminarians
will be leading an Exult night
at Corpus Christi Parish on July 3rd.
Exult is a ministry tour that is focused on the healing power of Jesus. We will be doing it this year from July 3rd to the 14th. We have been doing it the last few summers and it has been amazing witnessing the incredible power of God at work. This ministry is a great start to stir up the faith and ignite people’s hearts for more. The last couple of years we have been touring the United States but this year we felt called to do a Canadian tour. We will begin with Corpus Christi in Detroit and then head to Canada.
The Flow of the Evening:
We will begin with a period of praise and worship, followed by a teaching on the seven Hebrew words for praise, their Biblical meaning, and how they enrich our worship. We will end the night with a time of communal prayer ministry. We have seen that when people worship God wholeheartedly, they are emboldened to step out in faith to receive healing. We will lead the people in praying for each other, especially for healing. This portion of the night, we lead people through prayers for forgiveness and prayers of renunciation all in the name of Jesus who has the power.

New Item: Sign-up for Adoration!Here at Corpus Christi, we are so pleased to have the opportunities to spend time quietly with the Lord in Adoration of the Eucharist displayed in a monstrance on the altar. The Lord gets our attention with the Eucharist and we can respond by opening our hearts and minds to the Lord in our prayers. Yes, speaking to the Lord and listening to the Lord!
This adoration is offered twice a week. We have adoration from 6:00pm to 8:30pm on Tuesday evenings and from 9:15am to 10:15am on Thursday mornings. The Tuesday evening prayers are especially supportive of our parish evangelization efforts at local food stores (SFE – Store Front Evangelization) and in our neighborhoods (VON – Visiting Our Neighbors).

Hot Dog Tuesdays
We are offering Henry Ford High School students hot dogs on Tuesday afternoons after school gets out, May 7th thru June 18th. All are invited to evangelize with students and neighbors as we serve the hot dogs, chips and drinks. Help is needed to cook, wrap and serve the hot dogs. Summer Camp, 2024!!!
In conjunction with the Northwest Detroit Youth Coalition (NWDYC), Christ the King Catholic School, and Corpus Christi Parish, we are SUPER-EXCITED to bring you Summer Camp, 2024!!!
This year, the Summer Camp will be held at Christ the King Catholic School from June 10th to June 28th between the hours of 9am - 4pm. Camp will cost $150 for the entire (3) week Summer Camp and we do have a very limited supply of need-based scholarships available.
Youth will enjoy: Academic Enrichment opportunities, a hot home-made cooked lunch and a snack to take home, Hip Hop Dance, Martial Arts, Creative Art (from the College of Creative Studies), Robotics, Tennis, Soccer, an AWESOME STEAM-Prenuership program, Chess, Lego Building, Sports, Daily Exercise, weekly FUN FILLED Field Trips, and much, much more!!!!

Eucharistic Adoration
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
