1. Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework Pray this week that Jesus would give you a greater faith and love of the Eucharist than ever before!
2. Blessings Came to us as we Celebrated our Parish Feast Day!
Our celebrations of the Feast of Corpus Christi were great! Red shirts contributed to the joyful atmosphere. The music focused in on the feast with songs like, “One Bread, One Body”. The number of Mass attendees continues to grow as events are becoming safer. We celebrated lots of June birthdays. The red bow-flag banners on the north lawn created an atmosphere even before we walked into church.
AND, the Lord came once again into the bread and wine and shared Himself in a most intimate way again… and again, and again! Around the world He sets a record of coming to the altars on an average of four times per second. Yes, he really, really does care for us around the world and here at Corpus Christi Parish!
3. Families of Parishes – Prayers Requested!
Please raise a storm of prayers up to the Lord for all the efforts needed to implement the goals and objectives of the AOD program of “Families of Parishes.” Last Wednesday and Thursday, the priests and deacons of our family of six parishes attended a workshop/retreat. There were about nine families represented at the event. We prayed about and learned more about the “Families of Parishes” in greater depth.
The chief goal is to serve the parish members better than ever, in spite of problems facing today’s people and parishes. Please make those prayers part of your on-going prayer practices and efforts. Thanks! [Also, please see last Friday’s parish email for the list of parishes in our family and the times & languages of their weekend Masses.]
4. Six Corpus Christi Youth Being Confirmed at 4:00 Mass this Saturday
Bishop Hancon, our regional bishop, will be here at Corpus Christi at the 4:00 Mass to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on six of our youth. As mentioned in the homilies on the Feast of Corpus Christi, the bishop will use the Sacred Chrism which we keep in the glass-door ambry near the Baptismal font. The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the “initiation” of the youth into our Catholic faith.
Please raise the six confirmandi in prayer: Valerie Abulu, Manny DeCenso, Chioma Dike, Maryann Kalu, Vitaliy Koponen and Gabriella Nielsen.
