Next Sunday’s Gospel: Luke 13:1-9 Unfruitful Fig Tree
This Week’s Fr. Patrick Holy Homework
Take an hour and sit with Jesus this week and ask Him to show you where He wants to let His divinity shine forth more in your life. His Words and Ways bring new life into areas of our lives that have sometimes become stagnant in the flesh.
WHO’S HUNGRY???
Each year during the season of Lent, the Corpus Christi Parish Social Justice Committee raises funds and awareness for worthy causes with our Lenten “Soup” Meal.
This year, in collaboration with the Ladies of St. Peter Claver Unit #247, we are having a Lenten “Hot Dog” Meal to support our sisters and brothers in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in Louisiana, particularly St. Lucy and St. Mark Parish’s, who have been effected by Hurricane Ida.
On March 26th after the 4pm mass and March 27th after both the 9am and 11am masses, we will have a Lenten Hot Dog Meal which includes a premium beef Hot Dog, your choice of chips, and a beverage all for $5, and best of all, 100% of the funds raised will go directly to support our sisters and brothers in need.
Romans 12:12 says, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer”.
Join us in bringing hope, love, and peace to our extended family in need by supporting these efforts to bring the healing power of Jesus through your acts of Almsgiving.

Ideas for Evangelizing
The Companions of the Cross seminarians are hosting an Online School of Evangelization on Saturday, March 19, from 9am – 4pm EST. It’s open to anyone who wants to be empowered on how to share their Christian faith with others. The talks will teach you what the Gospel is and give you effective ways to share it, with some practical workshops worked in – like how to share your testimony, share the basic Gospel in a conversation, and pray for people – so that you can practice right there with us.
The whole day is spent fostering an openness to the Holy Spirit, the principal agent of evangelization, who is able to make all this happen. You will leave with a new awareness of the urgency of evangelization and be equipped to actually carry it out within your spheres of influence! It’s all online (using Zoom) so you can tune in from any where or get together with a group to watch it as a “watch-party” (and do some of the workshops together in-person). To register for this event, click on the button below and then click on the button on that page.
How have things been going with you lately? Have you offered someone one of those new Corpus Christi “business cards” as part of our parish “Everyone Invites” Thematic Goal? Here’s what the cards look like (two sides/one card!) … and there are more cards that can be picked up at the back of church!
Generations of Faith: Encounter Jesus
Fr. Bernie Owens’ presentation on Forgiveness is still available on the Corpus Christi website.
You will hear about forgiveness as God’s Call for us to forgive and our challenge to live this call. He spoke about what forgiveness is NOT; what forgiveness IS; and the three steps in a process of Christians forgiveness.
If you attended, click the button below to give us feedback on your evaluation of the day’s program.
If you did not attend (or you want to hear it again), you can see the entire presentation through the Corpus Christi website. Click on the button below for links to Fr. Bernie’s talk, his handout, and the closing video prayer. Children and teen home activities and videos can also be found through the button below.
Our prayer list continues to grow for the deceased, the ill and the homebound. Please visit our parish bulletin for the current list on page 3. … and then raise a prayer for those on the list and your own special intentions. Simply click on the Bulletin button at the end of this email.
