A. Today’s Special Items
1. Seeking Your Prayers for “Families of Parishes”! The Archdiocese of Detroit’s program of “Families of Parishes” will start on July 1st, less than two months from now! The Archdiocese and our Corpus Christi Parish are seeking your prayers for the successful implementation and operation of the program and for all the benefits we hope to receive from it. One suggestion for prayer is a novena preceding the Feast of Pentecost, May 23rd. The novena will start on Friday, May 14th and will be prayed each day from then until Pentecost. Click on the button below for the novena prayers.
Please join in on the Holy Spirit Novena or choose another prayer of your liking. We at Corpus Christi will truly appreciate your prayers and the blessings that will result from them! Thanks already!
2. CC Campus Spruce-up Opportunity Norman Klawender, Jr. (Our Lady of Sorrows), Vitaliy Koponen (Corpus Christi), and Nate Zerbonia (St. Fabian) have planned a service project as part of the Pope Pius XII Boy Scout Religious Emblem program. The program, designed for high-school Scouts, centers around the life of vocations in the Church, and service and living their lives as model Catholics.
They invite you to join them in sprucing up the Corpus Christi Parish campus. Opportunities both indoors and outdoors may be available. It would be helpful to bring garden tools, including brooms and edgers, gloves for gardening and litter pickup, as well as beverages and snacks for you and your family members. To keep everyone safe, understanding that some of our brothers and sisters may feel less comfortable than us, we will be maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.
WHEN: Sunday, May 30, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
WHERE: Meet in the parking lot at Corpus Christi Parish, 19800 Pembroke Ave, Detroit, MI 48219. The parish is located ½ mile south of 8 Mile Road, at the corner of Evergreen and Pembroke.
If you have questions about the project, feel free to contact our Pope Pius XII facilitator, Steven Koponen at [email protected]
Sincerely, Vitaliy Koponen

All these gatherings will be BOTH virtual AND in-person. Everyone is invited to attend. There are three dates for our family’s gatherings: Fridays, May 21st, June 18th, and July 16th. The gatherings will be from 7 to 9pm. Please register (to attend in-person OR to receive the link to attend the virtual event) by clicking on the button below.
The May 21 gathering will be an opportunity for the members of the Trinity Vicariate Family #1 to get to know one another and to encounter Jesus through new relationships as brothers and sisters. The “in-person” version of this first gathering will be held here in our church.
The June 18 gathering will aim to deepen those new, faith-founded relationships and help us begin to grow together as disciples.
The July 16 gathering will encourage our Family members to celebrate together as a Family, receiving the grace that comes with confidently bearing witness to the Gospel.
Get to know the members of the Trinity Vicariate Family #1! Come meet fellow parishioners and journey through the Encounter, Grow, Witness paradigm to discover YOUR role in our family.
