Some News and Updates
An Invitation for YOU…
We would like to invite adults in our parish to consider sharing your faith with adults, youth, or children. We have the OCIA for adults considering coming into the church, and sacrament preparation classes for Confirmation and Eucharist. We also have sessions for children in Generations of Faith, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and Liturgy of the Word with Children. If you would like to work with adults, youth, or children, we have a place for you.
Please contact Sr. Therese for more information.
One way to reach Sr. Therese is via her email: [email protected].

Please see a volunteer at the back of church this weekend to place your order for the new Corpus Christ T-Shirt! Monday, June 5th is the deadline and when we will be placing the order!

Hot Dog Tuesday
On this coming Tuesday, June 6th, we will be doing one of our “Hot Dog Tuesdays” where we offer free hot dogs along the Evergreen sidewalk in front of church. We offer the hotdogs to students leaving Henry Ford High School and to others passing by … even to some who are driving! We can always use more help for this ministry, especially in the time frame of 2:30-3:30pm. Please call the office if you would like more information or if you would like to volunteer. Thanks already!
Corpus Christi Feast Day Festivities!
Sunday, June 11th is the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Savior, Jesus Christ, our Parish Feast Day.
Our celebration will begin with Mass at 11 am, immediately followed by a Eucharistic Procession, then the Hospitality Committee invites you to join them for an Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social. We will begin serving in the Rainbow Room AFTER the Eucharistic Procession. Dine in or carry out. Come and celebrate that great Corpus Christi Parish vibe with Guernsey Farms Ice Cream and more.
Please take a moment to sign up at the back of church or use the email link [use button below!] to let us know how many are coming and how you can help. Volunteers are needed for set up on Saturday, June 10th, and serving and clean up on Sunday, June 11th. Please consider pitching in. [Note: there will be no 9:00am Mass on Sunday, June 11th]
Bp. Gerard Battersby, one of our Detroit bishops, will preside at the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, June 17th and will Confirm several of our parish members.

Warm Send-off for Dcn Aaron!
Dcn Aaron was encouraged to accept a new position at The Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit and at Most Holy Trinity in Corktown. Those areas have many Spanish-speaking parish members and really need Spanish-speaking church ministers. Dcn Aaron speaks Spanish and makes a very fitting match for the needed ministry there. He has accepted the AOD’s invitation for that ministry and will start ministering there on July 1st.
Dcn Aaron will be serving at all our Masses on the weekend of June 24th and June 25th. A warm send-off is in the planning for that weekend so please join in wishing him blessings in that new assignment!

Please Pray for …
Our prayer list continues to grow for the deceased, the ill and the homebound. Please visit our parish bulletin for the current list on page 3. … and then raise a prayer for those on the list and your own special intentions. Simply click on the Bulletin button at the end of this email.
AND, please add to your list: “The prayer requests of those we have met during our Store Front Evangelization efforts and the Visiting Our Neighbors efforts”!
-- yes, we have restarted those efforts again here in April 2023!
Eucharistic Adoration
The Eucharist is being exposed on the altar in church on the following schedule: Tuesdays: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
[Note: that’s a usual time for our neighborhood
Evangelization efforts so prayer support is appreciated!]
Thursdays: 9:15am – 12:15pm
[Note: Holy Hour for Priestly Vocations from 9:15am – 10:15am]
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
You can go directly to the adoration sign-up by clicking on the following button:
