1. Parish Day of Evangelization – Rally Cry!!! Saturday, October 24th, you are invited to participate in a Parish Day of Evangelization. Students from the Encounter School of Ministry will be coming to the parish, dividing into teams of two, and going through our parish boundaries to share the good news of Jesus, to offer prayer for people and to make an invitation for people to come and experience the gift of Corpus Christi. All parishioners are invited to participate!
PLEASE: Click on the button below to a sign-up on our website to indicate if you'd like
to join by coming to evangelize or
to offer prayer support (the Church will be open for prayer from 12:00pm-3:00pm) or
to pray from home (we'll have adoration live-streamed from 12:00pm-3:00pm)
We'll have an 11am meeting at the Church for an orientation to the day, organize evangelization teams, review our love filled, simple, and effective approach. Then we'll have a prayer of sending at 12:00pm and will evangelize until 3pm. This initiative will involve Covid-19 Protocol to be as safe as possible.
Please give serious consideration to participating in some fashion!
2. 2020 Fall CSA Campaign Our Fall CSA campaign (moved from last Spring because of Covid-19) is underway, thank you for your support of the Church beyond our parish boundaries (CSA helps support 170 ministries throughout southeast Michigan). 4. Called and Gifted Workshop Every baptized Christian is given gifts of charisms at their baptism, gifts from God that one prominent author (Dr. Mary Healy) describes as “gifts of the Holy Spirit given in different measures to different people. They are not primarily for personal sanctification but for building up the body of Christ. They are by definition gifts to be given away, gifts to be used for others.”
The Catherine of Sienna Institute is dedicated to helping people discover what their God-given charism are and how to use them. A stable of their ministry is their Called and Gifted Workshop. It is a 10-week course that meets 2 hours every week and is both a study of the charisms and discovery one’s own charisms and how to use them. Mary Martin of the Archdiocese of Detroit will be leading a Called and Gifted Workshop on Saturday mornings beginning October 24th from 10:00am to 12:00pm on zoom. For those who would miss the October 24th session to attend the parish day of evangelization, she will be hosting a make-up session on Thursday, October 29th at 7pm on zoom. There is a $40 cost for the course that covers materials Please visit this link to sign-up: https://scholastica.church/called-gifted-workshop Marilyn Webb (our youth minister) is also a trained Called and Gifted facilitator and would be good to talk with if you have questions. You can find her contact information in the bulletin.

6. St. Christine’s “Share the Sweetness” As with everything else this year, our annual dessert collection for the St. Christine Soup Kitchen will be a little different this year. The Corpus Christi Social Justice Committee is asking for monetary donations to St. Christine Christian Service in lieu of the traditional goodies. The need is greater than ever, so please be as generous as you are able.
There are two ways to donate. You can pick up an envelope at the back of the church, available for the next three weekends, and return it with a check made out to Corpus Christi with Soup Kitchen written in the memo line (or mail in a check if you won’t be at church). Or, you can log onto the St. Christine Christian Service web page http://sccsdetroit.org/ and scroll down to the donate button to give with a credit or debit card.
Thank you in advance for being Christ’s Light in our little corner of the world.
