5. St. Christine’s “Share the Sweetness” As with everything else this year, our annual dessert collection for the St. Christine Soup Kitchen will be a little different this year. The Corpus Christi Social Justice Committee is asking for monetary donations to St. Christine Christian Service in lieu of the traditional goodies. The need is greater than ever, so please be as generous as you are able.
There are two ways to donate. You can pick up an envelope at the back of the church, available for the next three weekends, and return it with a check made out to Corpus Christi with Soup Kitchen written in the memo line (or mail in a check if you won’t be at church). Or, you can log onto the St. Christine Christian Service web page http://sccsdetroit.org/ and scroll down to the donate button to give with a credit or debit card.
Thank you in advance for being Christ’s Light in our little corner of the world.

8. Highlights for this week on FORMED FORMED is one of the services provided by the Augustine Institute out in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Each week FORMED publishes a list of the special items for that week. Please click on the following link to see this week’s highlights.
The topic for the October 7 presentation is “The Big Question: Climate Change As “Water Speak.” It will begin at 7 PM EDT with the presentation, followed by a moderated question & answer session, and will end at 9 PM.
The two platforms we will be using are Facebook Live, which accommodates the ability to ask questions remotely through their chat feature, and YouTube, which will just be live streamed. When you follow the link to the website’s Beloved Community page, the video you can see is the YouTube video. If you choose the blue hyperlink for this week’s session, it will take you to Facebook and the chat option.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be monitoring my email ( [email protected] ) during the presentation.
The Beloved Community at Gesu originally planned to do this series in April 2020. We are really delighted that we’ve had the support to enable both in-person and online presentations. We’ve had the benefit of presentations by Dr. Peterson and Dr. Mendoza in the past and know how thought-provoking they are. We’re really glad that you are able to join us. Jane
12. Links for viewing or registering for this weekend’s Masses Our Masses are: Saturday, 4pm; Sunday 11am. The 11am Mass will be livestreamed. Click on the button below for viewing the Mass. [Videos of Masses from prior weekends are also available at this site.]
If you have not registered (by noon on Saturday) to attend Mass in person and you still wish to attend a Mass at church this weekend please: - park in the parking lot a little ahead of Mass time, - go to the parking lot side entrance, - and ask the staff at that doorway if there is still available room. If there is room in church they will do a check-in process for you. Based on the slightly relaxed directions from AOD there is now more space available in the church to attend Mass in person.
