4. National Day of Prayer and Fasting, Thursday, Sept. 24th
Fr. John Riccardo and the apostolate ACTS XXIX are calling for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on September 24, 2020. “This is not about politics or any particular social movement or even the November election,” Fr. Riccardo cautions. “This is about asking for God’s mercy on our nation and for the healing of our hearts — all of our hearts, starting with mine.” His hope is that the entire country, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and all people of good will, would set September 24 aside as a true holy day, forego food until dinner, and pray for the conversion of hearts.
Corpus Christi will start the all-day event with 8:30am Mass and end it (breaking the fast) with 6pm Mass. Throughout the day, there will be morning prayer, midday prayer/Angelus, rosary, chaplet of divine mercy, and praise & worship (led by none other than Fr. Patrick). The church will remain open all day for drop-in prayer. Music will be playing and portions of the day will be livestreamed.

If you have not registered (by noon on Saturday) to attend Mass in person and you still wish to attend a Mass at church this weekend please: - park in the parking lot a little ahead of Mass time, - go to the parking lot side entrance, - and ask the staff at that doorway if there is still available room. If there is room in church they will do a check-in process for you. Based on the slightly relaxed directions from AOD there is now more space available in the church to attend Mass in person.
