1. “Ora et Labora” – Feast of St. Benedict, July 11th: Last Saturday the Church celebrated the Feast of St. Benedict. He lived from 480 to 547AD in Italy. He is typically recognized as the person who has exercised the greatest influence on monasticism in the West.
Early in life he became a hermit, leaving a depressing world—pagan armies on the march, the Church torn by schism, people suffering from war, morality at a low ebb. Living alone in a cave in Subiaco, he soon began to draw others to his way of life and this led to his forming a monastery in Monte Cassino.
A part of his way of life for those in the monastic setting was simply “Ora et Labora”, Latin for “Pray and Work”. There’s much more to his life and the influence he has had on others for the last 1500 years. You can find out some more about him and his heritage at these two locations:

This special mass is part of a nine-day novena of masses leading up to the celebration of the feast day of The Archdiocese of Detroit's patron saint, St. Anne, the mother of Mary. You can attend the mass in person or you can watch a live stream of the mass by click this button.
3. Our Weekend Masses – 9:00am Mass will be livestreamed: Our Masses are the usual: Saturday, 4pm; Sunday 9am and noon. If you have not registered to attend by noon on Saturday and you still wish to attend a Mass in person at church this weekend please: - park in the parking lot, - go to the parking lot side entrance, - and ask the staff at that doorway if there is still available room. If there is room in church they will do a check-in process for you. Based on the slightly relaxed directions from AOD there is now more space available in the church to attend Mass in person.
