Last March the annual Lenten Soup Meal, organized by the Parish's Social Justice Committee, was the first Parish event to be cancelled amid the growing threat of Covid-19. 

One whole year later, on the 3rd Sunday of Lent (March 7) the event is being reworked into a Virtual Soup Meal!

Using our Parish Lenten theme of Let's Listen - Be Changed - Go Love, please do the following 4 steps.

Step 1:

As a family or individual activity, make a nice batch of soup (or open a container of your favorite store bought soup).

Step 2:

While your soup is simmering, think about the Lenten Theme.  Google scriptures about Listening, Being Changed and Loving.  Following are some scripture suggestions:

Listen:

• Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves.  Do what is says.  (James 1:22)
• Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who build his house on the rock.  (Matthew 7:24)

Be Changed:

• May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.  (2 Thessalonians 3:5)
• Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.  (2 Corinthians 5:17)

 

• A new command I give you:  Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  (John 13:34)
• This is what the Lord Almighty said:  Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.  Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor.  Do not plot eveil against each other.  (Zechariah 7:9-10)
