3. How to Meet Isn’t it getting beautiful outside?!?! Leaves are forming on trees and other plants! Weather is getting warmer! Those things might well bring a smile to our face and a “Thank you Lord!” coming from our hearts. Some people have even gotten thoughts like: “Wow! Looks the Lord is trying to get my attention! OK, Lord! I am all ears. What’s your message for me today?” People have reported so many different ways that the Lord has gotten their attention, has given them a message. Here’s a sample list of ways people have reported the Lord getting their attention:
In the Sacred: Scripture, Prayer, Mass, Receiving Holy Communion, a Day of Prayer/a Retreat, Meditation, the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, a Homily, Music – hearing it or singing it!
In Life Events: the Birth of a Child, Death of a Loved One, Marriage, A Hug in Church, Illness, Tragedy, Witness Story of Another, When Angry of the Lord; When Thankful to the Lord; When Begging the Lord for help.
In the Unconscious: Dreams, Ideas from the Holy Spirit (inspiration), Ah Ha! Moments, It Came in a Flash!
In Nature: Sunrise/Sunset, a Flower, the Sky, the Stars at Night, Autumn Colors, a Mountain Top, a Walk in the Woods, Lounging at a Sea Shore/Lake Shore, Watching an Animal, Bird or Fish.
Blessings on your “paying attention” to the Lord’s stimulating efforts!
4. How to Share
Oh, would you care to share that news with others? Here are a few ideas for that.
1. Tell a family member or a friend about it.
2. Write a short note that we can place on our “I Witness” pages on the parish website.
3. Join our ministry of VON (Visiting Our Neighbors) where we go in twos or threes to introduce ourselves to residents. This year we’ll be doing that just west of Lahser.
4. Join our ministry with lots less walking! For the Storefront Ministry we simply meet and greet people coming in and out of stores and offer them prayers … for whatever they need.
5. Meet and greet strangers all on your own … in line in a store, waiting for a bus, sitting in a waiting room. Words? “Blessings on your day!” “May God bless and keep you!” … and maybe even more!
