Prepare Your Heart: Jesus, the Gift, Is on the Way
This Week at Corpus Christi
Sunday, December 3rd 1st Sunday of Advent Gospel: Mark 13:33-37 “Be watchful! Be alert!”
Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework
Take a half hour this week
to sit down with Jesus and
put together an Advent plan
(i.e., more scripture, ½ hour of prayer each day,
go to confession, less media intake, etc.)
that will help you to prayerfully
set out with Jeus on the journey of Advent.
Some Items for This Week!
1. Christmas Party Update
We’re delighted that so many have signed up to come to our Parish Family Christmas Party this coming Saturday, December 9 from 5:30—8:30 pm in the School Gym. If you didn’t have a chance to sign up, just email Mary Davis at [email protected] to let us know you’re coming. Our Basket Elves: Sr. Ellen, Rita Pridgen, Esther Bostick, Muriel Murphy and Carol Lawrence were busy Monday evening assembling the 10 beautiful gift baskets to be raffled at the party. Come, take a chance at checking something off your shopping list.
Thank you to those who have signed up to bring food to share. Those who haven’t signed up to bring something, remember that this is a Pot Luck. We are providing the main dish and beverages and are counting on you to provide the rest. Choices include: veggie or salad or tray to serve 8, potatoes, rice, mac & cheese to serve 8, fruit salad or tray to serve 8, desserts, cheese & crackers, chips & dip. Thank you in advance! IF YOU ARE COMING TO 4PM MASS, YOU CAN DROP YOUR DISH OFF IN THE RAINBOW ROOM BEFORE MASS.
Also, many hands make light work. Your help is needed on Friday, December 8th at 5 pm to bring party supplies to the gym & decorate tables; at 2:30 pm on Saturday, December 9th for final set up; at 5:30 pm to serve and, of course, after the party to clean up. Eucharistic Adoration
The Eucharist is being exposed on the altar in church on the following schedule: Tuesdays: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
[Note: that’s a usual time for our neighborhood
Evangelization efforts so prayer support is appreciated!]
Thursdays: 9:15am – 12:15pm
[Note: Holy Hour for Priestly Vocations from 9:15am – 10:15am]
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
You can go directly to the adoration sign-up by clicking on the following button:
