Jesus travels to Jerusalem – Gospel, Sunday, June 26th 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Fr. Patrick’s Holy Homework
Treat yourself to a visit to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for a bit and ask that Jesus bless you and your parish and anyone on your heart with a greater love of the Eucharist than ever before.
Prayer Idea after Receiving Holy Communion In Sunday’s homily Dcn Paul suggested a prayer to keep our attention on the Lord and to help us avoid distractions.
“You” prayer at Communion time
Thank you, Lord, for coming to me again and again! You are so generous with your gift to me and to others. You chose such a humble shape, simply bread, simply wine. Thank you for reminding me through all five senses.
Seeing you in bread and wine
Hearing your bread broken by the priest
Feeling your bread in the palm of my hand and in my very throat
Smelling you in the sweet wine
Tasting you with my tongue
Thank you for becoming so intimate with your lowly servant.
What should you and I talk about at this moment? ____ Thank you for ___. What should I do for you today? _____ Can you help me with __________? What did I forget that you asked me to do? ______ And, what else do you have on your mind for me today? ______
Lest I forget it, let me praise you for your infinite being and value!
Glory to you, Father, and to you, Son, and to you, Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen

Invite a Family Member or Friend to “Consider Catholicism” Is someone you know wondering about your church, your faith, your beliefs, your Bible, your prayers, your worship services, or any other aspect of our Catholic religion? We have a casual process for such people to ask questions about our Catholic faith and practices. We are calling it “Considering Catholicism?” and are having sessions on Sunday mornings from 9:30am to 10:30am in the Rainbow Room.
There will be a “Considering Catholicism?” sign on the door to help them find the room. The first session will be on Sunday, July 24th and will continue on most Sundays from then until September 18th.
Care to know any more about these sessions? Please contact Dcn Paul Mueller at [email protected].

Hot but BUSY!
Last evening it was hot, 96 degrees! It was definitely TOO HOT to do our Visiting Our Neighbors ministry. However, four members worked inside the store entrance of Apollo on 7 Mile in our Store Front Evangelization ministry. Wow! So many families were shopping with young children! Lots of CC invitation cards were given out. One woman even said she was looking for a new church!
Thanks to the three members who stayed in church to pray for them and thanks to the many who prayed from their homes.
How about YOU? Curious? Getting a nudge from the Lord? Want to know more about it? In addition to visiting our parish website you could also talk to/call one of the following: Vickie Remesz – 248.765.4208 Jeff Smale – 248.910.2250 Paul Mueller – 248.891.9387
Currently, Tuesday evening is the time for both ministries, starting at 6:00 pm in church. We are discerning another day of the week for additional VON efforts.
