1. Blessings to All as we Celebrate our Parish Feast Day!
Happy Feast of Corpus Christi to all our parish members this weekend! It was back in 2006 that our parish was formed in a merger. It continues to be blessed by the several parishes who joined over the years. St. Eugene joined in 1989 [pretty sure of that date!]. IHM merged with St. Gerard’s in 2006 when we became Corpus Christi. Many members from St. Alexander’s also joined since then and have helped make us an even more vibrant parish. Of course, many individuals and families have also joined for many different reasons over the years.
To help create a festive mood for this weekend’s Corpus Christi celebration we invite our members to wear a red Corpus Christi tee-shirt or some other article with a red tone to it.
2. Thank You for Prayers for Priests/Deacons Retreat, June 2nd – 3rd
The priests and deacons of the parishes in our new Family of Parishes were on a retreat together on Wednesday and Thursday. They prayerfully reflected on how they are being called to become and act as members of our new family. It was a complex but productive meeting. Thank you for your prayers!
3. Families of Parishes – Visiting Parishes in our Family
The AOD and the parishes in our new Family of Parishes are encouraging us to get to know our family members. One way to do that is to attend a weekend Mass at other parishes of our family. Here is a list of parishes in our family. They are listed from north to south, just like you would find them on a map! Six parishes – one family!
