The Eucharist: In the Warmth of His Presence
Generations of Faith 2023/24
Pope Frances: “For in the warmth of His presence, our lives change.” (June 19, 2022)
Last Sunday about 70 adults, 14 youth in grades 7-12 and 11 children grades K-6 attended the second Generations of Faith Session where we learned more about the Eucharist Celebrated, the Mass. Specifically, our focus was on the Liturgy of the Word as we shared our favorite scripture passages. Adults also saw an excerpt from The Chosen – the miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes (see John 6:1-13).
The next Session of Generations of Faith is Sunday, November 19, 12:30 – 1:45 pm or stay for lunch until 3 pm.
Adults will learn about the Eucharist Received: The Mystery of His Presence by watching a video teaching by Bishop Robert Barron who is the bishop of the Diocese of Winona–Rochester, the founder of the Catholic ministerial organization Word on Fire, and the host of Catholicism, a documentary TV series about Catholicism that aired on PBS. Scripture text for the session: John 6:48-58.
Our Young People will study the Last Supper, John 6, or Jesus as the Bread of Life. Come with your whole household to be enriched and refreshed during this year of the Church’s Eucharistic Revival! Register: use the link below to register on Sign Up Genius. Note that some of the information in Sign Up Genius is optional. BE SURE to register for lunch if you intend to stay!! On Tuesdays, when the schools are in session, we are offering students hotdogs on their way home from school and taking that opportunity to evangelize them in the love of Jesus. Students are from Henry Ford High School and from the New Saint Paul school (in our Corpus Christi school building). Cooking and other prep is from 2 to 3 pm. Students come by from 3:00 to 3:45 pm. Eucharistic Adoration
The Eucharist is being exposed on the altar in church on the following schedule: Tuesdays: 6:00pm – 8:30pm
[Note: that’s a usual time for our neighborhood
Evangelization efforts so prayer support is appreciated!]
Thursdays: 9:15am – 12:15pm
[Note: Holy Hour for Priestly Vocations from 9:15am – 10:15am]
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
You can go directly to the adoration sign-up by clicking on the following button:
