Glad to See … You have probably seen but maybe have not heard! Yes, the ceiling lights in the church have been replaced and upgraded! They are now much more cost-efficient LED bulbs. It’s great to have a bulb again highlighting the crucifix hanging from the ceiling above the altar. You have probably already also noticed that the lower left corner of the video screen up on the front wall has been changed. A new unit has replaced one of the nine units that form the total screen. Good! That’s one less thing to distract us from our connections to the Lord during the Mass!

Generations of Faith
Prophets: People Called to Speak and Act Generations of Faith 2022/23 Isaiah: "I have called you by name." "A child is born to us..."
Last Sunday about 50 adults, 11 teens, and 11 elementary children attended the session on the Prophet Isaiah. The adults learned about First Isaiah (around 700 BC), Second Isaiah (around 550 BC), and Third Isaiah (around 300 BC). They also viewed part of a video lesson on the book of Isaiah by Professor Sandra Richter and discussed aspects of violence in our society.
If you would like to see the rest of the video or if you missed it, you can watch the ENTIRE video by clicking on the button below. Enjoy!
Also available on the website is the video of the closing song/prayer “I Will Never Forget You” and the handout which you may view or print. Click on the button below.
The elementary children continued their lesson from last month with learnings about Moses and the Ten Commandments. Moses himself (beard, staff, and long garment) led the lesson for grades 1 - 3. The children even wandered in the desert (well actually the school hallway). The elementary children in grs. 4-7 joined the adults and showed us what they learned by reciting the 10 commandments and singing about God’s commands. They will move on to Isaiah in January.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 22 when adults will study and reflect on the message of the prophets Amos and Micah - same time, same place, same caterer!

Tuesdays in November
The weather may be getting colder, wetter and even snowier but people still go shopping for food at grocery stores. On Tuesday evenings, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, your fellow parishioners [Evangelization Committee members] are in the store front lobbies of Foodland and/or Apollo markets. Many, many customers stop to pray with them. The customers ask for prayers for their sick family members, for unity in their families, for reduced stress at work, for strength, for their children, for pains in the back, for pain in their left knee, for finding a new church home, … and yes, on and on!!!! Your work??? Please pray for all those customers’ needs!
[And, by the way, while all this is happening another group of parishioners is praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament back in church! Oh, another opportunity for YOU?]
Eucharistic Adoration
It’s happening here at Corpus Christi!
The Eucharist is being exposed on the altar in church on the following schedule: Tuesdays: 6:00pm – 8:30pm [Note: that’s a usual time for our neighborhood Evangelization efforts so prayer support is appreciated!]
Thursdays: 9:15am – 12:15pm [Note: Holy Hour for Priestly Vocations from 9:15am – 10:15am]
One of the greatest treasures of the Catholic faith is the Eucharist. Ever since the Last Supper, the Catholic Church has believed that the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. You are invited to come and spend time in adoration with Jesus at Corpus Christi as we begin to offer these new time slots for adoration. Ideally, we will have two people in the church before Jesus whenever adoration happens. On our parish website you will see two slots for each time. Please know that if the slot is filled there will still be plenty of room in church for you!
You can go directly to the adoration sign-up by clicking on the following button:
Our prayer list continues to grow for the deceased, the ill and the homebound. Please visit our parish bulletin for the current list on page 3. … and then raise a prayer for those on the list and your own special intentions. Simply click on the Bulletin button at the end of this email.
AND, please add to your list: “The prayer requests of those we have met during our Store Front Evangelization efforts and the Visiting Our Neighbors efforts”!
