3. Generation of Faith – Adults Renew Reflect Respond
“Hello, Church! Andrea Baier here. Our pandemic approach to Generations of Faith includes watching 30-minute videos instead of the high-energy gatherings in the Rainbow Room with our beloved community. However, these videos give us food for thought and nuggets of wisdom to reflect on.
The most recent one on ‘salvation history’ got me to thinking about saints from hundreds of years ago, as well as present-day saints who share our pews at Corpus Christi.
The videos are followed by table discussions with a few Corpus Christi members, which keeps me connected to faith life at our parish until we can resume in-person gatherings. I hope you can TUNE IN to the next session, Who Is Jesus?”
TUNE IN starting today
to see Who is Jesus? Just a Good Man or Lord of our Lives? (34 minutes)
to learn more about the Incarnation, the human and divine natures of Jesus, Jesus: model of holiness, and living life abundantly
to hear a discussion among 4 Corpus Christi young adults about their favorite names/titles of Jesus.

7. Changes in These Corpus Christi Weekly Emails Perhaps you have already noticed changes in these emails! We have been listening to suggestions from our parish members about possible changes to improve the value and usability of these emails.
The first change we have done is to create three categories: Today’s New Items, Reminders and Standard Items. The first of these, Today’s New Items, is filled with completely new items or items that have changed since they were published previously. Reminders are items that have been published here before and are still active and useful. Standard Items include our usual liturgy schedules and registrations, and the links for getting to our website and bulletins.
The second change is a reduction in the frequency of publishing these emails. Instead of three times a week we are reducing it to twice a week. The two new usual days for publishing are Mondays and Thursdays. Of course, here in our first week Thursday is Thanksgiving so we will delay that email until Friday.

8. Thanksgiving Day Mass – 9am Mass will be offered on Thanksgiving Day in church. Please observe usual Covid precautions: wear a mask, sit in designated pews, etc.!
9. Giving Tree: Version 2020
Announcing a three weekend Advent Giving Tree event brought to you by Corpus Christi’s Social Justice Committee and Christian Service. The beneficiaries of this year’s collection will be members of Corpus Christi Parish and families in our Parish boundaries who find themselves unable to provide for their needs during this blessed Christmas season.
In the interest of keeping things simple and Covid safe here’s what you can do to help:
While you are out shopping anyway, PICK UP either a Kroger, Meijer or Target gift card—any denomination will be put to good use. DROP OFF your donation at the back of church at either the 4pm or 11 am Mass November 28, 29 or December 5, 6 or December 12, 13.
If you’re not going out you can MAIL a check to Corpus Christi Parish at 19800 Pembroke, Detroit, MI 48219. Make checks payable to Corpus Christi Parish and write Giving Tree on the memo line. Donation envelopes will also be available at the back of church.
We will distribute your donations to families on Saturday, December 19 so they will be able to shop for food or gifts prior to Christmas. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and understanding of the unique challenges of Christmas giving this year. Continuing thanks and wishes for blessings in abundance for remaining Christ’s Light in our little corner of the world.
10. Shower for Mary
11. New Air Purifying Equipment in Church Because your health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic is extremely important, the Leadership Team approved the purchase of four medical-grade air purifying units for the church and expect them to be delivered this week for use this upcoming weekend.
These units are used in surgical centers and dental offices, as well as schools and other settings where groups of people are gathering since the pandemic. Because the units continually clean and filter the air in the church, the company recommends that we keep the windows closed to keep out allergens and dust particles, which will keep us safe and warm in the church this winter. You will notice that the units will be placed against the two walls along the pew areas and the noise level is minimal
