1. Fr. Patrick’s News of free Sunday Missal This year, Corpus Christi is offering a free Sunday Missal for every registered household. In this Missal you’ll find the scripture readings for each Sunday and major feast day in the coming Church year. I’d like to encourage you to let this missal become a great source of prayer and encounter with God for you! Especially if you’re not able to come to Church on Sundays right now because of Covid-19, dive into the Sunday readings and soak them up. For those coming to Church, or watching on livestream, praying with the Sunday scriptures for several days (even the week!) prior to coming to mass really helps prep us for the celebration of the mass. You can pick up your household's copy after mass this Saturday or Sunday. On Sunday, you can drive up to the Church door until 2:00pm and a copy (in a sealed ziplock bag) will be delivered to your car; simply come on by!
2. Announcing a Virtual Christmas Party The Corpus Christi Hospitality Committee is excited to announce a virtual family Christmas Party on Saturday, December 12 from 7 pm to 8 pm. Attend on line from the comfort of your cozy home!
WIN GIFT CARD PRIZES playing games like: Name That Tune—Holiday Version, go on a Scavenger Hunt for items found at home. And, featuring the official fashion accessory of 2020—the face mask, we will be having an ugly Christmas face mask contest. Let your creativity shine!
We will also have our traditional Christmas Carol sing along and maybe a visit from a special guest.
Grab a cup of cheer and something to munch and join us! We will post a link to the party on our web page and in our eblasts and bulletin beginning December 5
3. Giving Tree: Version 2020 Announcing a three weekend Advent Giving Tree event brought to you by Corpus Christi’s Social Justice Committee and Christian Service. The beneficiaries of this year’s collection will be members of Corpus Christi Parish and families in our Parish boundaries who find themselves unable to provide for their needs during this blessed Christmas season.
In the interest of keeping things simple and Covid safe here’s what you can do to help:
While you are out shopping anyway, PICK UP either a Kroger, Meijer or Target gift card—any denomination will be put to good use. DROP OFF your donation at the back of church at either the 4pm or 11 am Mass November 28, 29 or December 5, 6 or December 12, 13. If you’re not going out you can MAIL a check to Corpus Christi Parish at 19800 Pembroke, Detroit, MI 48219. Make checks payable to Corpus Christi Parish and write Giving Tree on the memo line. Donation envelopes will also be available at the back of church.
We will distribute your donations to families on Saturday, December 19 so they will be able to shop for food or gifts prior to Christmas. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and understanding of the unique challenges of Christmas giving this year. Continuing thanks and wishes for blessings in abundance for remaining Christ’s Light in our little corner of the world.

6. Generation of Faith – Adults Renew Reflect Respond
“Hello, Church! Andrea Baier here. Our pandemic approach to Generations of Faith includes watching 30-minute videos instead of the high-energy gatherings in the Rainbow Room with our beloved community. However, these videos give us food for thought and nuggets of wisdom to reflect on.
The most recent one on ‘salvation history’ got me to thinking about saints from hundreds of years ago, as well as present-day saints who share our pews at Corpus Christi.
The videos are followed by table discussions with a few Corpus Christi members, which keeps me connected to faith life at our parish until we can resume in-person gatherings. I hope you can TUNE IN to the next session, Who Is Jesus?”
TUNE IN starting today
to see Who is Jesus? Just a Good Man or Lord of our Lives? (34 minutes)
to learn more about the Incarnation, the human and divine natures of Jesus, Jesus: model of holiness, and living life abundantly
to hear a discussion among 4 Corpus Christi young adults about their favorite names/titles of Jesus.

8. New Air Purifying Equipment in Church Because your health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic is extremely important, the Leadership Team approved the purchase of four medical-grade air purifying units for the church and expect them to be delivered this week for use this upcoming weekend.
These units are used in surgical centers and dental offices, as well as schools and other settings where groups of people are gathering since the pandemic. Because the units continually clean and filter the air in the church, the company recommends that we keep the windows closed to keep out allergens and dust particles, which will keep us safe and warm in the church this winter. You will notice that the units will be placed against the two walls along the pew areas and the noise level is minimal.
