1. Hundreds of Homes Visited! Today’s “Parish Day of Evangelization” was a marvelous success! Encounter Ministries members came from Brighton, MI and from as far away as Findlay, Ohio to participate. Preliminary numbers are about 25 teams of two or three members. Each team visited a half-mile route of about 100 homes. After an hour of orientation, planning and prayer, the teams spread out across the neighborhoods from Greenfield to Telegraph and visited homes for about 2 ½ hours.
There were many “glory stories” afterwards as team members shared events that occurred on their routes … the very positive interactions of visitors and the people that opened their doors to them. Many of our parish members were part of the efforts to make visits and to provide hospitality to the Encounter Ministries evangelists. A big thanks to all! Thanks, also, to the many who, while in church or in their homes, prayed for the evangelization efforts!
2. 2020 Fall CSA Campaign Our Fall CSA campaign (moved from last Spring because of Covid-19) is underway, thank you for your support of the Church beyond our parish boundaries (CSA helps support 170 ministries throughout southeast Michigan). Click on the button below for an easy on-line giving link. Just be sure to identify "Corpus Christi Catholic Church" as your organization.
3. Called and Gifted Workshop Every baptized Christian is given gifts of charisms at their baptism, gifts from God that one prominent author (Dr. Mary Healy) describes as “gifts of the Holy Spirit given in different measures to different people. They are not primarily for personal sanctification but for building up the body of Christ. They are by definition gifts to be given away, gifts to be used for others.”
The Catherine of Sienna Institute is dedicated to helping people discover what their God-given charism are and how to use them. A stable of their ministry is their Called and Gifted Workshop. It is a 10-week course that meets 2 hours every week and is both a study of the charisms and discovery one’s own charisms and how to use them. Mary Martin of the Archdiocese of Detroit will be leading a Called and Gifted Workshop on Saturday mornings beginning October 24th from 10:00am to 12:00pm on zoom. For those who would miss the October 24th session to attend the parish day of evangelization, she will be hosting a make-up session on Thursday, October 29th at 7pm on zoom. There is a $40 cost for the course that covers materials Please visit this link to sign-up: https://scholastica.church/called-gifted-workshop
Marilyn Webb (our youth minister) is also a trained Called and Gifted facilitator and would be good to talk with if you have questions. You can find her contact information in the bulletin.

4. St. Christine’s “Share the Sweetness” As with everything else this year, our annual dessert collection for the St. Christine Soup Kitchen will be a little different this year. The Corpus Christi Social Justice Committee is asking for monetary donations to St. Christine Christian Service in lieu of the traditional goodies. The need is greater than ever, so please be as generous as you are able.
There are two ways to donate. You can pick up an envelope at the back of the church, available for the next three weekends, and return it with a check made out to Corpus Christi with Soup Kitchen written in the memo line (or mail in a check if you won’t be at church). Or, you can log onto the St. Christine Christian Service web page http://sccsdetroit.org/ and scroll down to the donate button to give with a credit or debit card.
Thank you in advance for being Christ’s Light in our little corner of the world.

If you have not registered (by noon on Saturday) to attend Mass in person and you still wish to attend a Mass at church this weekend please: - park in the parking lot a little ahead of Mass time, - go to the parking lot side entrance, - and ask the staff at that doorway if there is still available room. If there is room in church they will do a check-in process for you. Based on the slightly relaxed directions from AOD there is now more space available in the church to attend Mass in person.
