1. Family of Parishes Survey – your input, please! [This is a repeat message from Fr. Patrick and we have included the link to the survey he is requesting in the message.
Hello Corpus Christi!
I pray this email finds you well, staying safe and continuing to draw from the Lord’s loving presence the grace of perseverance amid the various real challenges we are all navigating.
This week I’d like to invite you to review some information regarding the Archdiocese of Detroit’s Families of Parishes initiative and to participate in a survey that will be posted in our bulk email in the next few emails to come.
If you visit the families of parishes website you will find a lot of information about what the initiative is and why the Archdiocese is moving this direction. Then, if you visit the Trinity Vicariate Website and scroll down you will find a list of the parishes in our vicariate and you can visit their website to get a feel for the parish. There is one parish in our vicariate not listed on the website, St. Moses the Black, you can check out st. moses the black here Looking through these materials will help you to answer (if you would like) a 2-question survey in the next few bulk emails.
I’ll be sure to review all of the responses to the survey and it will help me to get a broader perspective on which parishes might be a good fit for Corpus Christi to join with (not merge or cluster) as a family of parishes with. It must be said though that I don’t have final say as to which parishes Corpus Christi will join with. That will be the decision of the Archbishop, but I will honor the perspective of the people as best as I can when it comes to suggested arrangements that will drafted at the Vicariate level and then submitted to the Archbishop by October 1 for his review and consideration.
Thank you brothers and sisters for your help with this process. Please know you are free to participate or not. Corpus Christi is a wonderful parish and I’m confident it will continue to be!
2. Fr. John McKenzie at St. Anne’s TONIGHT! TONIGHT! Saturday evening, 7pm. Fr. John spent his diaconate year here at Corpus Christi so some of you may well recall him. The following flier tells about the St. Anne Novena 2020 Mass on this coming Sunday.
This special mass is part of a nine-day novena of masses leading up to the celebration of the feast day of The Archdiocese of Detroit's patron saint, St. Anne, the mother of Mary. You can attend the mass in person or you can watch a live stream of the mass by click this button.
3. Our Weekend Masses – 9:00am Mass will be livestreamed: Our Masses are the usual: Saturday, 4pm; Sunday 9am and noon. The livestreaming of this weekend’s Mass will again be 9:00am Sunday morning. [Videos of Masses from prior weekends are also available at this site]
If you have not registered to attend Mass in person and you still wish to attend a Mass at church this weekend please: - park in the parking lot a little ahead of Mass time, - go to the parking lot side entrance, - and ask the staff at that doorway if there is still available room. If there is room in church they will do a check-in process for you. Based on the slightly relaxed directions from AOD there is now more space available in the church to attend Mass in person.
