Infant Baptisms
Infant Baptisms are offered 4 times a year. The three-session preparation for infants and young children (through age 6) are held on Saturday afternoons prior to each scheduled baptism.
Participants join with other families in exploring the Sacrament of Baptism and the commitment it requires of them as parents. Sessions include personal reflection, sharing and dialogue. A special welcome is extended to non-Catholic parents to participate in these sessions and share their stories. Please call the parish office at 313-537-5770 to register or for more information.
Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist begins in the fall and includes children who are seven years old (in 2nd grade) or older. Registration brochures are available in the gathering space of the church and the parish office.
Preparations for both sacraments are done in two parts. In part one, as your child enters the age of reason, we help him/her unfold the moral and faith responsibilities we have a Christians. In part two, we help your child explore what it means to be a part of a faith community as a whole.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in the fall. Youth of the parish who have been baptized, have celebrated their First Eucharist, and are in 8th grade through 12th grade in the fall are welcome to participate in the parish Confirmation preparation program.
Preparation involves sessions at Corpus Christi, meetings with youth from the other parishes in the Trinity Vicariate, service projects, and other special activities.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Registration for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I (for children ages 3-5) and Level II (for children ages 8-11) is also open in the fall. Registration forms and more information are available in the back of church. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children, rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church and the educational principles of Maria Montessori.
Level I sessions are held on Sundays during the 11:00am Mass.
Level II sessions are scheduled for Sundays at 9:00am
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation is the modern process for becoming a Catholic – an opportunity to grow in one’s experience of knowing Jesus Christ. We welcome those who have never before been part of a Christian church, those who have been members of Christian churches that are not Catholic, and Catholics who have been baptized and wish to continue the process to become a full member in the Catholic Church.
RCIA Adapted for Children RCIA for Children is the process for preparing children age seven and older for the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Please call the parish office at 313-537-5770 for more information about our RCIA process for adults and/or children.
