Infant Baptisms are offered 4 times a year. The three-session preparation for infants and young children (through age 6) are held on Saturday afternoons prior to each scheduled baptism.
Participants join with other families in exploring the Sacrament of Baptism and the commitment it requires of them as parents. Sessions include personal reflection, sharing and dialogue. A special welcome is extended to non-Catholic parents to participate in these sessions and share their stories. Please call the parish office at 313-537-5770 for more information.
Baptisms are celebrated every quarter. Following are the dates of Baptism in 2022-2023. Please complete the Registration form for Infant Baptism and the Godparent Certification form and return to the parish office or email to parishoffice.cc@corpuschristi-detroit.org by the 'register by' date.
Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist begins in the fall and includes children who are seven years old (in 2nd grade) or older.
Preparations for both sacraments are done in two parts. In part one, as your child enters the age of reason, we help him/her unfold the moral and faith responsibilities we have a Christians. In part two, we help your child explore what it means to be a part of a faith community as a whole.
Please complete the registration form and return it to the parish office or email it to therese.mackinnon@corpuschristi-detroit.org.
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in the fall. Youth of the parish who have been baptized, have celebrated their First Eucharist, and are in 8th grade through 12th grade in the fall are welcome to participate in the parish Confirmation preparation program.
Preparation involves sessions at Corpus Christi, meetings with youth from the other parishes in the Trinity Vicariate, service projects, and other special activities.

The Order of Christian Initiation is the modern process for becoming a Catholic – an opportunity to grow in one’s experience of knowing Jesus Christ. We welcome those who have never before been part of a Christian church, those who have been members of Christian churches that are not Catholic, and Catholics who have been baptized and wish to continue the process to become a full member in the Catholic Church.

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

The Anointing of the Sick
By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that he may raise them up and save them and indeed she exhorts them to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves to the Passion and death of Christ.
