“The gift you have been given, give as a gift.”
We, God’s people, have been blessed with so much, especially with new life through the death and resurrection of the Lord. In gratefulness we return to give thanks and to help build up His body, the Church. The Stewardship Commission unleashes the thanksgiving of God’s people by inviting them to share their time, talent and treasure.
The Stewardship Commission is a working committee of the Parish Pastoral Council. It is made up of volunteers who work with the pastor to advise him on the following activities in the parish:
Yearly budget
Church Support
Maintenance
Communications
Utilization of Resources
Personnel
Fundraising
The Corpus Christi Stewardship Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. in Room 4 of the School at the St. Gerard Center on the second Thursday of each month except during the summer months of July & August.
Finance Councils are the only parish organizations mandated by canon law. In most parishes of the Archdiocese of Detroit, including Corpus Christi, the Stewardship Commission serves as this mandated Finance Committee. This Commission serves as an advisory parishioner committee to the Pastor and is required by the Archdiocese to provide at least two written financial statements to the wider parish community. But, finances are not the only responsibility required of Stewardship Commissions.
